Jubail Island Waterfront Retreat
Abu Dhabi, UAE
A family retreat on Jubail Island, conceived around coastal views, privacy and a close relationship with the mangrove landscape.
The idea behind the place.
The brief called for a home with a different rhythm from city life. The waterfront setting informed an architectural concept centred on nature, wellbeing and time together.
A double-height living space and cathedral-style ceiling establish the centre of the house. Expansive glazing connects the interior to the landscape, while a restrained material palette and layered light support a quiet residential atmosphere.
